Exclamation is an improved cultivar over the common plane tree, being more resistant to anthracnose and having a more uniform crown. Tolerant to urban conditions and a variety of soil conditions, including high pH, this tree is a good specimen for a larger landsape, park or street tree. Its most notable attribute is its exfoliating bark, giving the tree a mottled look.
