Propagated by seeds and division of roots. Should be transplanted from the seedbed in early spring. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. A hummock-forming, spreading perennial that has cup-shaped pink to purple flowers, borne singly in summer above, deeply divided, dark green leaves.
